My name is Andres Philip Santalla. I was born in Okinawa, Japan while my father was serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. My family is of cuban descent. I grew up in West New York, New Jersey where I attended Memorial High School and graduated in 2000. I then attend New Jersey City University where I majored and acquired a B.A. in Psychology. It was at NJCU where I took my first acting class. I thought it was alot of fun and interesting to see some of the techniques used by the acting coach to help us perform. Throughout most of the class I seemed to not do so well due to inexperience and a tendancy to not allow myself to be heard. After performing a series of monologues and not receiving any kind of response I often questioned why this was and got a little discouraged. The last monologue I got I felt alot more comfortable with than the others and I also decided to just put myself out there more than I was used to and it worked out. I had the rest of the class laughing and the acting coach was pleased to see that I had something contribute and that I had improved a bit. After that class I didn't take anymore classes cause I became overly concerned with trying to get out of school as quickly as possible. But the experience from that class has stayed with me cause I had learned some things about myself and acting. Throughout my life I have always had a great love and appreciation for movies, films, and network television. It's something that has always been there in the back and forefront of my mind but I've never fully considered pursuing acting for several reasons until recently. Another passion of mine since I was really young has been martial arts. When very young I practiced Tae Kwon Do and when I was in high school practiced Aiki-Ju-Jutsu and Aikido. I also practiced some Shotokan Karate in college and some brazilian jiu-jitsu. My greatest passion however is for God and his word. I'm christian and I try to live in accordance with God's guidance as best as I can. .
