Born the base hospital on Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane, Washington. Spent some time in Alaska, Louisiana, 3 years in England, a year and a half in Little Rock, Arkansas, and the rest of my childhood in Wichita Falls, Texas. Graduated from Hirschi Senior High School in Wichita Falls.
Graduated from what was then called East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas (now called Texas A&M University - Commerce) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 1977.
Graduated from The University of Houston with a Masters Degreed in Education with an Emphasis on Reading and Language Arts and English as a Second Language in 1984.
Spent 20 years teaching in Elementary grades in Houston, Dallas, and Laredo, Texas, mostly in the Primary Grades (1st, 2nd, and 3rd).
The last two and a half years I have spent working as a Survey Clerk with the United States Census Bureau.
I have some training in working a Radio Broadcast Booth and Voice over training and would welcome the opportunity to work at a Radio or TV station either in a broadcast or non-broadcast capacity. (Think of the job Robin Williams' character had at the TV station in Mrs. Doubtfire. I would love to have that kind of job.)
