My name (my incredibly long unpronounceable name) is Izrail Abdurakhmanov. Most people just call me Izzy. I was born in Tashkent,Uzbekistan to a Jewish family and moved to the U.S when I was only 11 months old. I grew up in Brooklyn in a primarily Russian neighborhood which worked out well for my family considering Russian was our first language. Ever since I was a kid I was very energetic and I loved cartoons and impersonating cartoon characters. I was very silly and anything but shy. As I got older I became very interested in break-dance and I knew I just had to get into it. As of now I've been doing Hip-Hop dance for about 9 years as a serious hobby. I have performed many times as either a solo act or with a dance crew for school events and competitions. Movies like Step-Up really inspire me to want to act and dance. I feel like dancing makes me a better and more confident person and performer. I felt like I always had a knack for acting and after taking acting courses at Hunter College I feel like I have become better and learned so much. I know that I'm not great and that I have much more to learn but I also know that I can get better and excel in anything I set my mind to. All I want is a chance to show what I can do and to gain more experience in this journey.
