Carolyn Paine is a native of Newton, MA where she intensively studied ballet and performed children's roles in several productions with Boston Ballet. Ms. Paine continued her study of ballet and has an accomplished career that has taken her all over the world performing with several choreographers and companies. She most recently danced last December in Boston in the popular Urban Nutcracker with BalletRox. Carolyn studied theatre at University of Hartford earning herself a cum laude degree and stage credits including Tracy Lord in "The Philadelphia Story," Isabella in Shakespeare's "Measure for Measure," Leticia in "Conduct of Life", Brooke in "Noises Off" as well as roles in "The Laramie Project," and "As You Like It." She has also studied at the Chelsea Rep Lab in NYC working with the Actor's Project. In addition to roles in independent films with Lighthouse Productions and Impact Films, commercials, and print work, Carolyn has performed in The Shakespeare Sonnet Festival with Shakespeare Now Theatre Company in Boston and New Works Festival with Square One Theatre in Stratford, CT. Recently she has been in "The Crucible" with New Works New Haven (Mercy Lewis), "Arsenic and Old Lace" with All About Us Inc. in Wellesley, MA (Elaine), and was in "The Foreigner" (Catherine) with Park Road Playhouse in Hartford, CT where she was nominated for a 2007 Milo Award for Best Actress in a Comedy. This summer she will appear in the premiere of the dark comedy "3s" with Peripitus Theatre Company in Cambridge, MA. She will also be playing Hermia in the New England touring production of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with Classical Players.
