About me
North Hollywood, California, United States
I’m a working class guy from Fairhaven Massachusetts, now I live in Los Angeles but not before busting my ass in order to only get this far. I started acting in High School doing theater and making independent comedy albums for my friends. I got swept up in the musical side of my comedy and made a crucial mistake, I took myself seriously. I didn’t learn my lesson very easily either. I spent years and thousands of dollars on musical equipment, printings, pressings and tours making some far out music that nobody really got besides myself.
After High School I moved to Los Angeles, there I worked in record stores and for anyone that would hire me to do their shady dealings. I moved back home in a matter of months and worked at UPS for a while. After my truck broke down and I couldn’t make it into work anymore I was totally screwed. I pulled a last ditch effort and signed up for the easiest branch of the military I could, the Air Force. I also signed up for the easiest job I could find, Chaplain Assistant. I guess it was easier than how most guys had it, but the whole experience was a real bummer. It was lots of hard work and the squares, jerks and dumb dumb's were plentiful. I got out after my four years and worked in warehouses, studios, sold advertising, played music on the street and also toured in support of a record I had cut. I wrote some monologues to help make sense of the concept around the record and performed them while doing the live show. I realized I liked the acting aspect of the show a lot more than the musical aspect.
Also, I have come to the realization that music is dead. MP3’s and iPod’s are not but albums and people actually caring about them are so I’ve moved on.
I've managed to work on some really great independent features and shorts with some really talented people such as Ryan Finnerty, director and writer of the majority of the films I’ve been in.
I have recently written a new one man show entitled “Father Jim Reads Bible Stories about Bible Friends”. It is my comedic commentary on religion as a whole and I’m currently looking for venues to book it. I believe true, honest to goodness life experience has served me well as an actor. It has given me certain advantages and skills that you can't learn on set or in classes. I’m very proud of where I’ve been and hopefully where I’m going won’t be that bad either.
