About me
Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States
I was seven years old when strangers started telling me I should think about becoming an actress one day. My parents never liked the idea, but a seed had been planted in my brain, and although they viewed the aspiration as a weed and tried to kill it, I thought of it as the most perfect rose and nurtured it. They did help me by enrolling me in dance classes; tap, jazz and ballet, and I made an effort to study the work of those such as Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse. When I was twelve years old, my parents allowed me to enroll in the Fine Arts Program at school, where my coach was delighted with my versatility and memory. By fifteen years old, I could watch a film once and know most of the female leads lines, and I had learned to mimic accents. If I hear a particular accent for a decent amount of time, I will be able to mimic it, quite well, too. As a bookworm, I learned to combine my love of acting with my adoration of the written word by acting out the part of the female lead in each book I read. I became Emma Woodhouse, Jane Eyre, Scarlett O'Hara, Madame Bovary, Christine Daae among many others. I have a trunk full of costumes I've sewn to fit my various roles and I take pleasure in doing both the sewing and the portraying.
