17 year old Colby O'Donis was born to Puerto Rican parents in New York City. By his 9th birthday he was collaborating with Mega-producer/songwriters Full Force(Backstreet Boys,N'SYNC,Britney Spears) who were responsible for many of the hits on the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears and N'Sync. Shortly thereafter, Colby appeared on Motown Records on the Stuart Little Soundtrack singing the title track Mouse In The House where he shared the spot light with Brian McKnight,Trisha Yearwood and Brian Seltzer. Soon afterward he began taking guitar instruction with an emphasis on Flamenco style with Johan Olested, Carlos Santanas rhythm guitarist. He began to hone his vocal, songwriting and music production abilities and decided to solidify a career in the music industry.
By his 14th birthday Colbys musical endeavors had him opening shows for numerous major recording artists including JoJo, B-5, Backstreet Boys, Brian McNight, 98 degrees, N-Sync , throughout Florida as well as performing in the Florida School Tours which consisted of Colby performing for 500-1000 students per school. On his 15th birthday, the family made the decision to relocate to Los Angeles to pursue a recording deal with Colbys 100+ song catalog in tow.
In Los Angeles they were introduced to Genuine Music Group and began collaborating on producing an Lp consisting of songs from Colbys catalog and songs co-written by producer Damon Sharpe (J-Lo, Ginuwine, Kelly Rowland, Anastacia), and Gregg Pagani (Babyface, Musiq, 3LW). Included in the Lp are songs co-written by producer Brion James and multi platinum recording artist Justin Timberlake. Manual Seal Jr , who has penned numerous .. 1 singles for Mariah, Usher, and Mary J Blige also contributes on co-writing efforts.
Colbys sound consists of his utilization of his acoustic guitar and piano skills combined with a hip hop and pop fusion. His vocal style retains his youthfulness yet reflects the delivery of a seasoned pro. His live performances which include Colbys stylized dancing skills, showcase an opportunity for him to reign as the new teenage male star to speak for a new generation of young fans throughout the world.
Colby continues to perform in California recently opening shows for G-Units Lloyd Banks,Young Buck, Keysha Cole, 112, Montel Jordan, Daddy Yankee, Bad Boys B-5 , Omarion, E-40 and Don Omar. He is also active on the SEAP Los Angles School Tour. Watch for emergence on the national scene in 2006 .
