  • About me
    wheeling, West Virginia, United States
I'm definitely new to this whole website thing..to be honest I'm not quite sure how the credits/representation/etc. works. Beyond all of that, my name is Karin Freese and I'm a senior in high school in a small town called Wheeling, West Virginia. I've been blessed with a supportive family and friends who admire and care about all that I do. I come from a very musical family, so vocal is by far my strong point. My range is an F# below middle C to a to an F# above high high C. Needless to say, I'm a soprano. I can belt comfortably to a B, and uncomfortably to a C. I can play the piano, I'm no musical genius but I do understand (for the most part) music and music theory. I've always had a voice teacher. It annoys the crap out of me when people say "I don't need one." If you want to improve, you need one. American Idol is slowly ruining our society. Sadly, within the next ten years all those pop singers vocal cords will be dead. I can't stand bad actors, and when people that I know I'm more talented than are rolling in the dough, but life tends to work out the way that it's meant to. In the meantime I participate in everything I can: I've been acting seriously for about 5 years now. My shows include: Scrooge, Oliver, Beauty and the Beast (principle), Guys and Dolls, Charrolette's Web, Once Upon a Mattress (priniciple), Spooon River Anthology, Inspector General, The diary of Anne Frank, Little Shop of Horrors (principle), All in the Timing (principle), Cinderella (priniciple), and the last show of my high school shows, A Midsummer Night's Dream (principle). I'm also experienced in assisting teaching children's acting and am a Forensics coach (a type of speech coach to middle school children). I'm what you would call a functional dancer. I've danced for the past six years or so and no basics in: jazz, musical theatre, tap, modern, pointe, and ballet. I'm what you would call a functional dancer. Not amazing but definitely not horrible. I'm probably one of the nicest people you will ever meet, which probably isn't the best thing if I'm interested in a career in theatre, but I'm a work in progress. It's hard when you're a middle class girl in Wheeling, WV. "Making it" really isn't an option or in the budget. So lately, I make the best of it and do tons of local theatre and get myself involved in all that I can (while keeping a very active high school social life). Now that takes skill. As I said before, I'm not quite sure on this whole website thing, for all I know i just wasted ten minutes and this may never be seen by anyone except for me. But hey, gotta give the girl some credit. My college plans (unless something wonderfully amazing comes about such as a free trip to New York to star in Legally Blonde, one can dream)include majoring in secondary English education and minoring in musical theatre. Feel free to offer advice, critique, and knowledge to someone who was probably "just like I was when I was young, eager and talented." Thankkkk Youuuu :-)
