Some say that a person is the sum of their experiences. However, this does relatively little to explain why Tamika is so damn funny. The oldest of eight children, born and raised in a religious sect in deepest darkest Brooklyn, life was pretty much shit right from the get-go.

To get out of this hole, she started digging with more or less anything that came to hand. She has tried most professions, except the world's oldest, and has dabbled in: real estate, writing, teaching, martial arts, catwalk modelling, dance and carpentry.

Tamika finds it hard to stay quiet, and after being overheard mid-soliloquy, she was offered one night at a small German stand-up venue. That was six years ago and she's never looked back. It's quite possible that Tamika was born funny, and this explains why Tamika has been able to penetrate the UK scene so quickly with relatively little exposure here.

Tamika is professionally versatile. She has appeared in Aeon Flux, as both a stunt double and a nude featured extra (she struggled to keep a straight face for that one). As a dancer she has worked with Shakira, Destiny's Child, and WyCliff Jean. She is a mainstay of the German comedy scene and is regularly featured on German TV. This is probably because she is equally funny in German, to German people (quite different to being funny about German people, after all one can't just suggest invading Poland).

Tamika's abilities as a cultural chameleon extend in some unusual directions; she is also fluent in Arabic and relevant comedic genres, a rare accomplishment for a comic who calls the New York scene home. Tamika is currently based out of Berlin and Liecester, but in an almost eerie fashion she often appears around the world at a moment's notice.

Tamika's style is observational, and she's lived so much that there's a lot she gets inspired by. On stage she is thought provoking, flippant, and irreverent. This is balanced by a self-effacing nature that keeps the audience firmly on her side. Tamika is all woman and her raunchy side will often bare itself on stage where she is funny, energetic and spontaneous…
