Please paste your biography here... Uzi Parnes has been part of New York’s performance and art scene for over 25 years. He has collaborated with Carmelita Tropicana Co-Writing and Directing four plays including Memories of the Revolution, Carnaval, and The Conquest of Mexico as Seen Through the Eyes of Hernando Cortez’s Horse produced at PS122, DTW and WOW Cafe. He also directed and performed in Tropicana’s Chicas 2000 and Clamcracker Suite.
Uzi has also written and directed numerous short films and videos shown extensively in international film festivals, Anthology Film Archives, MOMA and PBS. As a photographer he spent many years working with Jack Smith and shooting countless photos of Jack from 1982-1989.
Commercially Uzi has worked in film and television and has had small roles opposite Al Pacino and Michael Keaton. Downtown, he has created original roles in the theater of Ethyl Eichelberger, Holly Hughes, Michael Kirby, Kestutis Nakas, William Niederkorn as well as Jack Smith.
Uzi has a Ph.D. in Performance Studies & M.A. in Drama from New York University
