Anup’s tenure in the film world has allowed him to build up a respectable resume in a relatively short period of time. As a director of programming for a prominent film festival in Southern California, he was a regular representative for the festival on several radio interviews. He has also turned the tables and founded Filmmaker Interviews, an online magazine where he interviewed Don Davis (composer, The Matrix Trilogy), Ted Tally (writer, Silence of the Lambs ) and many up and coming filmmakers. He has guest-lectured at university and high school levels concerning the various aspects of filmmaking and its value to society. One of his most memorable experiences was teaching film production to children at a foster-academy. His passion for films along with his physical stamina was demonstrated when he attended a half dozen film festivals and screened as many as 34 full length feature films in one week. All these experiences paved the way for his actual filmmaking voyage.

Anup’s first project was landing a leading role and subsequently producing the award-winning indie feature film, Trade Offs. After a series of festival screening across the country, it received distribution on Netflix and Blockbuster online. He spent 5 weeks in Mexico working as a special-ability extra on Peter Weir's Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World starring Russell Crowe. During the downtime, he picked up his camera and interviewed nearly fifty other specialists and turn it into a short documentary titled Slaves and Ensigns: The Far Side of the Border. This doc was selected for the online film showcase iFilm's iFilmPlus. He also recently co-wrote the soon-to-be- released feature film It’s A Mismatch, starring Bend It Like Beckham 's Anupam Kher. Anup's lead role in a powerful post-9/11 short film, Necessary Illusions won the film and its director Fayeque Rahman the Visionary Award at the Washington D.C. Independent Film Festival as well as being an official selection at prestigious Torino Film Festival in Italy. The title of short film is a nod to the contentious author, Noam Chomsky. Looking For Comedy In A Muslim World by Albert Brooks gave Anup the opportunity to act along side a comic legend in a featured role.
