Faye Yvette McQueen’ Bio


Faye Yvette McQueen was born in Jamaica, New York. She began dancing at the age of 8 at the YMCA in the basement of her apartment building. She studied African and Modern Dance as well as Charm with Pauline Wilson and Ms. Loria and Ms. Pat.

Faye started a dance company at the age of twelve called, "The Dancer's Delight". She taught dance to the less fortunate children in her neighborhood. She choreographed and directed dance shows and performed for the nursing homes in Far Rockaway, New York.

Faye also studied dance with Ms. Jo Starling in high School where she was also a member and the captain of the gymnastics team. She also volunteered to teach dance at Elmcor Youth Drug Program after school while she was in high school.

After high school, Faye went off to Goucher College in Towson, Maryland on a Dance Scholarship. After graduation, she then attended graduate school in Dallas, Texas at Southern Methodist University where she furthered her studies.

After Dallas, Faye moved to Atlanta, Georgia. She started her own dance school, "The Dancer's Warehouse, Inc." She has been featured in movies, commercials and theatrical productions. She also impersonates Diana Ross for corporate events and private parties. Faye recently performed with The Atlanta Opera's production of "Porgy and Bess" as a principal dancer. Faye travels every other summer to train and perform with "ProDanza Italia / USA" in the Tuscanny region of Italy. When not performing or training, Faye travels out of the country for pleasure.
