Spent early years in Springfield, IL. Grew up the middle child of seven. We would entertain our aunts and uncles with talent shows and improv skits and always felt at home in my skin when I was performing. Basically shy and quiet but always fascinated with the bigger side of performance, the glitz, glamour and upscale fashion. If it was shiny and I could drape it around my body somehow...I was gonna!
Began operating a manual sewing machine at the tender age of 8. At 10 I was altering clothes to fit my small frame. Always felt I was in some way 'preparing' myself for a life on television or the big screen. Living in a very small town I had no blueprint of 'how' this was going to happen, I just knew it was a part of my calling.
Moved to Houston, TX later years where I worked for oil & gas companies and lucked into the modeling world. One small photo in a local magazine led to another job and then the next. I modeled part time on the side of my 'corporate' job.
Took the big plunge in 2001 after my final contract position w/ Texaco. Mysteriously all doors closed for me in that arena and I was led to do what Joseph Campbell urges us all to do: "Follow your bliss''. I packed up a U-Haul, sold and gave away many items and headed west. Left July 1st and on the 4th of July I had officially gained my independence from TX ....arriving on California soil. July 5th I was in my first official 'Hollywood' audition in front of Disney studios. Oh, what a feeling.... I was finally at home!
