Characters:

Julie
(45-60 Female United States)

Julie is both independent and stubborn, yet, she has a very caring nature about her. She struggles to conceal her frustrations, as she tends to her dying mother. On the one hand, she wants her mother’s suffering to end, on the other, she knows that once it does she will be left alone in the world. It seems that there is no good solution to her current situation and all she can do is make the most out of the remaining days of her mother’s life.

Mary
(60-90 Female United States)

Mary shares her daughter’s stubborn attitude and independent nature. Therefore, her dependency on her daughter during the final days of her life leaves her feeling depressed and frustrated as a result of her burdensome impact on Julie’s day-to-day obligations. There is nothing pleasant about her situation, but worst of all is the thought that she will leave this world in such a dependent and vulnerable state.

Hospice Nurse
(25-45 Female United States)

Attentive, caring, and optimistic, this nurse provides a backbone of strength to Julie and Marys’ situation. She is consistently calm and does everything that she can to boost morale for those that she cares for. Her patient and nurturing presence provides a more positive atmosphere for the situation at hand.
