As long as I recall it all started when I was about eleven. I remember watching In Living Color with Jim Carrey. Watching him do all expressions and imitation of characters, I started imitating his characters and others as well. I was always fascinated watching television and watching movies of all sorts of genres. I have always believed that I am a character myself. In high school I started to take more interest in the academic of theatre. My sophomore year I played a small part in a musical kn... Moreown as, "Hello Dolly". The school only had one play per two years. I decided to wait until my senior year to try out for a bigger role. I ended up landing onto the role of a gate keeper in the famous musical, "The Wizard of Oz".
I started again in 2003 at a local community theatre landing the part of a gang member of a play known as, "West Side Story". I ended up over the years playing in twenty two different musicals/plays across the Lima region. I also, helped a backstage crew setting props in the broad way show known as, "The Music Man". There were other plays such as, âBellesâ, andâ Come Blow Your Hornâ that I helped out as a sound operator at a local community theatre. I also was an apprentice director for the "Snow White Goes West".
In 2008, I tried out for a summer program for The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts School of Film & Television. Over the course of a month, I learned commercial basics, improvisation, stage combat, film and television, voice, and actor's movement. I earned my certification and hoped to earn a local acting job in New York.
In the year 2009, I started to pick up a YouTube video showing the basics of Michael Jackson, "Thriller". I then, started practicing at local bars, and weddings. I ended up posting a YouTube video of myself dancing and ended up on the local station of WLIO three times for web classic Wednesday, a Halloween special, and the top three videos of the year in 2011. My name and video spread like wild-fire and wherever I go I get the attention and name of Michael Jackson "MJ". I also have picked up other dance moves from other artists such as, Usher, Chris Brown and LMFAO.
In 2010, I won a State OCTA (Ohio Community Theatre Association) Award for the role of "Almost, Maine". In this play, I play a role as an ex-boyfriend that runs into an old girlfriend thinking of getting back together but, ends up finding out the girlfriend is on her bachelorette party.
I have done a few movies in Columbus. I was in movie called "The Buyout" which I starred as an Impound Worker and I earned a credit in the Internet Movie Database (IMDB).
Over the years of my experience in the acting field, my ultimate goal would be to become an actor and star with most famous well-known stars of today. When I act, it keeps me alive and feeling good about myself. I hope to inspire other great talented people into the acting industry. Acting helps not only me but, others with personal problems in life for just a moment.
