Michael has relocated to Los Angeles after spending the last four years in academic study in Pittsburgh. Currently, Michael just completed working on the Art Institute of Pittsburgh's full-length feature film titled Better Luck Yesterday by Max Dubinsky. In this film, Michael plays the clinically depressed and suicidal William Porter- a character who struggles to cope with the self-inflicted torment... More and strife he places in his life, and is always teetering on the edge of ending it all.
Traditionally trained in stage performance, Michael specializes in character-driven drama, portraying people that have visceral and deep-rooted qualities in their character. Playwrights such as Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, and Woody Allen all have been particularly influential to Michael's work. His versatility is really what makes him a unique asset. With the roles he has portrayed, many have cited Michael as a cross between a Jude Law and a Keanu Reeves, being able to play a wide range of characters- from the urban street hustler to the young aspiring lawyer.
While in Pittsburgh, Michael was immersed in many theatrical projects, working with noted directors such as Melanie Dreyer-Lude, Holly Thuma, and Stephen Coleman. His finest performance was playing Frankie in Pittsburgh Repertory Theatre's "A Lie of the Mind," by Sam Shepard. "A Lie of the Mind" received many honors and accolades, including ranking in the top 10 Pittsburgh Theatrical performances of 2005.
Michael, who was born and raised outside Philadelphia, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh (Magna Cum Laude), and has also studied the Sanford Meisner technique under the direction of Melanie Dreyer-Lude. An avid traveler and open-minded adventurer, Michael once lived in London for 6 months before coming to Los Angeles. Aside from performing, Michael enjoys weight lifting, running, football, snowboarding, exotic food and micro-brews, and is also a brother of Pi Lambda Phi fraternity. Less
