Summary
Born to a wealthy rancher in Mexico, 12-year-old Esperanza has the world at her feet. But when her father is killed by outlaws, that world is turned upside down. She finds herself separated from her beloved Mama, her possessions and her land. When she journeys across the border to America, Esperanza learns what she's truly made of. Can Esperanza rise above the challenges before her? This historical drama, based on true-life events of the author's grandmother during the Great Depression, will remind you of what family is all about. Resplendent with the lilting music of live mariachis, ESPERANZA RISING will lift your hearts and give you hope.
