Abby has just graduated from college and is set to attend veterinary school in the fall. Her father, a county sheriff, was killed on duty five years earlier, the crime still unsolved. Abby is home spending the summer with her mother Sarah Dalton and her young sister, Katie. To support the family, and help pay for Abbyâs schooling, Sarah operates a local combination bar and restaurant.
Abby returns home one day to find her mother Sarah dead from a brutal assault. The police eventually track down three suspects, the Shealy brothers, Zack, âT-Boneâ, and Ike. But due to a technicality concerning the evidence, the charges are dropped and the three brothers are released.
